Cookie information

This forum uses a small number of essential cookies and local browser settings so that sign-in, security and display preferences work correctly.

Essential sign-in cookie

cmforum_session identifies your secure forum session. It is required for signing in, CSRF protection, account security and keeping your place while using the forum.

When Remember me is not selected, the session cookie normally expires when the browser session ends. When it is selected, the forum also stores a secure cmforum_remember token for approximately six months. The token contains random identifiers rather than your password and can restore your sign-in if the hosting server clears its normal PHP session files early.

Both sign-in cookies are host-only: they automatically belong to the exact forum domain where you signed in. After the forum moves from one domain to another, members sign in once on the new domain and the new six-month cookie is then created there.

Managing cookies

You can remove forum cookies using your browser settings. Doing so signs you out and may reset display preferences. You can also review and revoke signed-in devices under Account → Security & devices.
